Educational Institutions will re-open sooner with proper safety and maintaining social distancing issues. Schools and colleges may reopen across India in August 2020 month, most probably after August 15, said Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’.
Notably, all educational institutions have been shut across the nation since mid-March, some of them from March 25 when the nationwide lockdown started to contain the spread of coronavirus pandemic. Although, online classes are going on, around 33 crore students are waiting for the reopening of schools.
The final decision regarding reopening schools and other educational institutions will be made after assessing the prevailing conditions. The report also says that a new session in Universities may also be started after August 2020. At present, no confirmed date has been set for schools reopening.
The pending exams of CBSE Class 10 and 12 will be held from July 1 to 15, 2020. The result for the previously held and to be held board exams will be declared by August 15, 2020. Due to coronavirus pandemic, the board has announced that CBSE Class 10, 12 students with special needs can skip remaining board exams.

Last month, a section of media had reported that schools and colleges, educational institutions will re-open by July in a zone-wise manner, starting from Green and Orange districts across the nation. Later, the Union Home Ministry clarified that no decision has been taken yet on the opening of education institutions.
With relaxations in lockdown, discussions are going on to re-open Schools in Rajasthan while practising the social distancing.
On the other hand, the Haryana government has decided to reopen the schools next month– in a phased manner. Speaking to reporters, Education minister Kanwar Pal said that the state government will take feedback from stakeholders, including parents, teachers and experts and then it will take a final call on the resumption of classes.
In the first phase, Classes 10-12 would be started in July, followed by Classes 6-9, and in the last phase Classes 1-5 would begin, he said. The colleges and university classes will begin in August, the minister stated.
