Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology or JIET is a part of Poornima JIET Education Foundation and was established in the year 2003. It is situated in outskirts of Jodhpur city at N.H. 65, Pali Road, Mogra and the campus sits in a wide expanse of 45 acres. It is considered to be one of the prominent private engineering colleges of Rajasthan. It is an AICTE approved college with NBA accreditation and is affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University, Kota. It is among the very few colleges of the region with BBB+/ Stable CRISIL rating.
The JIET University consists of five constituent institutions namely Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology, JIET College of Engineering (JIETCOE), JIET School of Management (JIETSOM), JIET Nursing college (JIETCON) and the recently founded Jodhpur Institute of Hotel Management (JIHM) offering various graduation and post graduation programs to students.
JIET Courses
Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology offers four year Bachelor of Technology program in six different disciplines namely Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication and Information Technology. In addition to that, it also offers post graduation or Master of Technology programs in four domains namely Digital Communication, Power Systems, Thermal Engineering and Computer Science.

JIET offers a below number of seats each for various domains of B.Tech course. Students get admission through REAP entrance process as well as through management quota.

JIET Infrastructure and Academics
The program is divided into 8 semesters as per the RTU guidelines and the syllabus for the program is also in accordance with RTU. The total fee for the program is 3.24 Lakhs INR and is payable in semester-wise installments or as a whole.
There are hostel and transport facilities available for the students as per their requirements. The college has a library with a noticeably good collection of books of different genre and domains. Along with that, it has other basic amenities like reading room, internet room, medical room, auditorium et cetera.
However, there is no all-campus WiFi facility as acclaimed by the college website. WiFi is available to registered students with only a specific area of connectivity. College is academics oriented and has a good reputation in terms of discipline, with a mandatory minimum 75% attendance rule strictly in compliance, as per the norms of the supreme court.
Students are not allowed to appear for the University examination if they fail to attain the required attendance criteria without a genuine reason. Sports facilities, however, are minimal as per the feedback of current students.
It offers admissions in following Branches of Engineering, which are approved by AICTE, Ministry of HRD, New Delhi and affiliated with Rajasthan Technical University, Kota.

JIET Professional Membership
The college boasts various professional memberships with societies like IEEE, SAE, IETE, ISTE, Computer Society of India, ISHRAE for student chapters.
It also has academic collaboration with IBM, Infosys, Career Launcher, NPTEL and IIT Bombay. Various Research and Development projects in several areas of engineering have been funded by the college or external agencies like DST and AICTE and Various research papers have also been published by the students and faculties in some highly regarded recognised journals.

Scholarship
The JIET institution also participates in various merit and need-based government scholarships for the underprivileged and meritorious students like Minority Welfare Scholarship, Chief Minister Scholarship and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Scholarship. Some major scholarship participations include:
- Indian Oil Scholarship for B.Tech (1st year) students: Student must have minimum 60% in 10+2 examination and family income should be less than INR 100000/- for all categories. Scholarship Amount: INR 36,000/- p.a.
- LIC scholarship for B.Tech (1st year) students : Student must have minimum 70% in 10+2 examination and family income should be less than INR 450000/- for all categories. Scholarship Amount: As per LIC norms but less than INR 20,000/- p.a.
- Rajasthan Board Of Secondary Education (RBSE) scholarship for B.Tech (1st year) students: Student must have passed in 10+2 examination (Top 20 percentile) and family income should be less than INR 450000/- for all categories. Scholarship Amount: INR 10,000/- p.a.

Conclusively, Jodhpur Institute of Engineering and Technology has been delivering a good result in respective fields consistently for years and has emerged as a leader amongst fellow private education providers in the field. However, there is a section of student and alumni network which seem dissatisfied with the relative inexperience of faculties apart from department heads and several senior faculties, yet the institution has managed to figure out a balanced mix which delivers targeted results. There are some areas for improvement to make this institute to a national level. The growth graph is in a positive direction and things look good for the institution and its students.
