Jodhpur Railway Station, the Cleanest Railway Station in India as Announced by Railway Ministry is renovated by NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) Jodhpur students with bright and vibrant colours in form of attractive paintings to showcase the traditional Marwadi look.
Under the ‘Joy of Giving Week‘ celebrated at Jodhpur NIFT, some of the students around 40 took the initiative to refine the railway station in an ethnic look with the skill of their art. For this, they have selected five places on the railway station rejuvenating with the attractive paintings.
The team of NIFT students has painted many archaic and breathtaking paintings with their imagination and vibrant colours inside the railway station. The images of this ethnic makeover were shared by Jodhpur Mayor Shri Ghanshyam Ojha.
Earlier Jodhpur Railway Station was awarded the cleanest railway station in the country by the Central Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and this new and colourful initiative has added Jodhpur, the city in the state of Rajasthan, one more step forward toward the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
NIFT students have decorated the Jodhpur Railway Station in such a beautiful manner that everybody got amazed by their work. They worked on the places such as the staircase of the platform, lift area and the empty walls. They painted with the vibrant colours and the theme of drawings is the Rajasthani tradition.

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged the Railway Ministry to prioritise cleanliness in stations across India. In the last four years, the Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat campaign has witnessed tremendous improvement at the Jodhpur Railway Station in terms of cleanliness standards in platforms, toilets and trains.
The Director of NIFT Jodhpur Vijaya Deshmukh said that “the students studying in NIFT Jodhpur have come from 
different places. The campus is far from the city that’s why here we have to do this with the culture of the students coming from. This will also require connectivity. We get everything from society only. So, the idea of painting the city’s railway station came on Joy of Giving Day”.
NIFT Students had done this work voluntarily for the people without any money and returns. A large number of people are coming every day to see the paintings made by these students. And also the traveller from Jodhpur railway station and Jodhpuries feels delighted and proud to see such beautiful art and decoration by NIFT Jodhpur students. The officers and employees of the railway had also provided full support for this work.
The students of NIFT has set a paradigm for all those who know their skills but not using it on anything and they have fully integrated the railway station to showcase the connectivity of their talent with the society.
