Students’ Union Elections in Jodhpur Division on Sept 10, Others on Aug 31, 2018

The Students’ Union Elections in Jodhpur division would be conducted on September 10, 2018. The Rajasthan State Government declared the schedule of the Students’ Union Elections 2018 on Monday. The elections for the Rajasthan Students’ Union Polls would be held in two phases. Elections in Jodhpur division will be held on September 10, while the rest of Rajasthan will hold the elections on August 31, 2018

Kiran Maheshwari, Rajasthan State Higher Education Minister announced on Monday that Students’ Union Elections in all 14 Universities of Rajasthan and Colleges affiliated to them will be held in two phases on August 31 and September 10, 2018. Counting of votes will be done on September 11 and results will be announced on the same day.

“Elections in Jodhpur division will be held on September 10, while the rest of the Rajasthan state will hold the elections on August 31”, Maheshwari was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

An official was quoted as saying by DNA that, “The decision to hold the elections in Jodhpur division later was taken because the Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra would be underway in the region around during that period.” The Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra is a massive outreach programme by the Chief Minister Smt Vasundhara Raje to outline the work done in her so far tenure ahead of the assembly elections due later this year.

To avert a law and order situation, the decision to conduct the Students’ Union Elections in Jodhpur in the second phase was taken. Raje’s Government’s Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra will be held from August 24 to September 2 in Jodhpur division.
