Dabangg Khan has done it again, topped the Forbes India Celebrity List 2018 for the third year in a row while other major superstars like A.R. Rahman, Rajnikant, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma listed on 11, 14, 17, 16 respectively. The 52-year-old Bollywood with earnings of Rs 253.25 crore through his blockbuster films, many brand endorsements and television projects, Salman Khan becomes the country’s highest paid celeb for the third consecutive year in Forbes India Celebrity List 2018.
The American business magazine Forbes has recently released the top 100 celebrity list in India. The magazine releases this list every year on the basis of celebrities’ earnings. On the second spot is an ace cricketer Virat Kohli with Rs 228.09 crore earnings and ‘Padman’ Akshay Kumar follows next with Rs 185 crore earnings.
Recently wedded Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has become the first woman to feature in the top 5 of this list ever since it was created in 2012. She has been featured at No. 4, with Rs 112.8 crore earnings through blockbuster Padmaavat and her many brand endorsements. She became the highest-earning woman celebrity in India and Highest paid actress of the Bollywood industry.
According to Forbes report, the former Indian Cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is at No. 5 with total earnings worth of Rs 101.77 crore. From the sports fraternity, the other celebrities listed are Sachin Tendulkar on 9, PV Sindhu on 20 and Hardik Pandya on 27 positions in the list.
The Thugs of Hindostan which sank at the box office, Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan are also among the top ten with earnings of Rs. 97.5 crore and Rs. 96.17 crore, respectively. The Shahenshah of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan is listed 7th in this list.

The King Khan Shahrukh Khan doesn’t make the place in top ten. King Khan is at no. 13 in this list with an annual income of Rs.56 crore. Shah Rukh had no theatrical release during the period under review, his earnings came largely from his businesses and advertisements. Last time Shahrukh Khan was at the second position of this list with his annual income of Rs. 170.50.
Same as in the case of newly married Priyanka Chopra Jonas, with the dropping the position from 7th number on the last year list to the 49th number on the Forbes India Celebrity List 2018.
The directors included Karan Johar placed at 30 number on the list with an annual income of Rs.25.9 crore and a tie between Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Rajkumar Hirani with an annual income of Rs.18.33 crore both are placed on the number 47th on the list.

Compare to last year of 21, this year the number of women in the Forbes Celebrity list goes down to only 18 women including actors Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Taapsee Pannu, Nayanthara and ace shuttler PV Sindhu among others.
There are 17 Celebrities from South this year compare to 13 in last year, Mahesh Babu is at 33 and Nagarjuna at 36. The list including the names of Tamil and Telugu celebrities, in total the list have 14 names from Tamil and Telugu region celebrities, while one name is from Kerala.
How the Forbes India Celebrity List 2018 Calculated?
The top 100 names in 2018 Forbes India Celebrity List are based on estimates of entertainment-related earnings of celebrities. The period under consideration is October 1, 2017, to September 30, 2018.
The list doesn’t list the actor or actress on the basis of their stardom but the volume of work they do. According to the Forbes report, the top 100 celebrities together earned Rs 3,140.25 crore this year which is 17% per cent increase to the last year’s Rs 2,683 crore.
